Role overview
Ethyca is on a mission to empower every internet consumer to take control of their data. It's a big task, but we're starting by helping each of our customers quickly spin up their data privacy initiatives. We make it simple to process complex data that moves to databases and other software products, offering internet users better control of their personal information in a world with increasing regulations.Â
As a Devops Engineer at Ethyca, you'll play an integral part of building and expand our infrastructure and services to integrate new platforms, build new safety and privacy features to give users and businesses around the world better control over data, and support our internationally renown customers in jumpstarting their implementation with Ethyca. We’re looking for people with a strong background in building online systems from the ground-up; you’re comfortable in dealing with ambiguity, lots of moving pieces and changing priorities; you have unerring attention to detail; and you’re comfortable learning new technologies and systems.

What You Will Do:Â
- Be responsible for ensuring the health and uptime of services in our cross-cloud
Kubernetes
environment - Help to understand and diagnose the root causes of performance issues and crashes across our many microservices
- Be a point of contact for engineers and other team members, helping ensure and promote optimal platform usage
- Help to maintain and scale our many and varied data stores and infrastructure, such as
Redshift
, andKafka
- Help to debug and optimize network usage across
AWS
,GCP
andAzure
- Help to maintain and optimize our
Jenkins
-based CI/CD pipeline
You may be a fit for this role if you:Â
- Have 3+ years experience in Software Engineering and DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or equivalent field
- Proficiency in a language such as
Java
andCassandra
- Deep familiarity with container schedulers and related security best practices
- Experience working with a cloud provider and in-house data centers
- Experience managing and developing highly-available and distributed software
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as
Terraform
- Self-starter with an aptitude for problem solving.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication, organization and leadership skills.
