Developer tools to make data privacy easy. Solving CCPA & GDPR for teams big & small.

Role overview

Ethyca is on a mission to empower every internet consumer to take control of their data. It's a big task, but we're starting by helping each of our customers quickly spin up their data privacy initiatives. We make it simple to process complex data that moves to databases and other software products, offering internet users better control of their personal information in a world with increasing regulations.

As a Devops Engineer at Ethyca, you'll play an integral part of building and expand our infrastructure and services to integrate new platforms, build new safety and privacy features to give users and businesses around the world better control over data, and support our internationally renown customers in jumpstarting their implementation with Ethyca. We’re looking for people with a strong background in building online systems from the ground-up; you’re comfortable in dealing with ambiguity, lots of moving pieces and changing priorities; you have unerring attention to detail; and you’re comfortable learning new technologies and systems.

What You Will Do:

  • Be responsible for ensuring the health and uptime of services in our cross-cloud Kubernetes environment
  • Help to understand and diagnose the root causes of performance issues and crashes across our many microservices
  • Be a point of contact for engineers and other team members, helping ensure and promote optimal platform usage
  • Help to maintain and scale our many and varied data stores and infrastructure, such as Redshift, and Kafka
  • Help to debug and optimize network usage across AWS, GCP and Azure
  • Help to maintain and optimize our Jenkins-based CI/CD pipeline

You may be a fit for this role if you:

  • Have 3+ years experience in Software Engineering and DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or equivalent field
  • Proficiency in a language such as Java and Cassandra
  • Deep familiarity with container schedulers and related security best practices
  • Experience working with a cloud provider and in-house data centers
  • Experience managing and developing highly-available and distributed software
  • Exposure to infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform
  • Self-starter with an aptitude for problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication, organization and leadership skills.

Benefits:

  • Cash + Equity + Bonus
  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance fully paid by the company
  • Flexible office hours & vacation policy
  • Maternity & Paternity leave
  • Commuter discounts
  • 10-49

Ethyca builds automated data privacy infrastructure and tools for developers and privacy teams to easily build products that comply with GDPR, CCPA Privacy Regulations. Ethyca's powerful and flexible automated data privacy and protection tools provide any business with a future-proof solution to compliance with privacy regulations across global jurisdictions. Whether you're simply collecting consumer email addresses or inferring complex data points from unlimited data points, Ethyca provides your product, engineering and privacy teams with unmatched ease of use and functionality to better care about your user's data. We believe that user privacy matters more now than ever and that the solution to managing user data is not in regulation but in code. We are a passionate and excited team of problem-solvers (that also happen to be music lovers, exercise enthusiasts, PC and console gamers, and wine aficionados). We not only love solving challenges for our customers, but also thinking about the current and future state of data privacy in society. At its core, Ethyca is engineering company. We're building a missing component of the internet's infrastructure - privacy-respecting data systems. If you're as stimulated about this mission as we are, we'd love to talk to you.
