Senior Protocol Engineer

The Role

The Sorella Labs team is seeking an experienced Senior Protocol Engineer to help us build a first-of-its-kind decentralized trading system at the cutting edge of MEV infrastructure. You will be responsible for supporting the design, testing, and implementation of our Rust-based backend execution and consensus systems, which play a pivotal role in the functioning of our protocol.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our lead engineer on the research, development, and implementation of our Rust-based off-chain execution engine and underlying consensus
• Collaborate with our data engineering team on our other Rust-based projects (see github.com/sorellalabs)
• Design and implement core and peripheral mechanisms for our protocol
• Conduct robust tests to ensure quality and stability
• Create and manage comprehensive technical documentation and diagrams for public use
• Constantly be curious and assess how to potentially improve/optimize current code implementation

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the Rust language, with proven previous experience
• Experience working on production systems, with a strong understanding of asynchronous programming, networks, and computer architecture
• Deep familiarity with the Ethereum Virtual Machine
• Experence designing and building critical systems from the ground up
• Ability to contribute effectively in an asynchronous work environment, both as part of a team and independently
• A strong passion for writing elegant and efficient code

Nice to Haves

• Contribution to open-source projects
• Deep familiarity with the Ethereum ecosystem and MEV supply chain
• Experience working with Ethereum EL clients like Reth
• Strong mathematics background
• Experience designing and implementing consensus-based systems
• Experience working with Ethereum CL clients like Lighthouse and Prysm
• Experience working in fintech

Sorella Labs Inc. is a dual product and research organization building solutions to the hardest open problems in decentralized finance.

Currently, the team is building a robust and scalable protocol to address the two leading challenges distributed systems pose in on-chain liquidity markets: (1) loss vs. rebalancing for liquidity providers and (2) suboptimal execution for swappers.

Disclosures

Minimum full-time salary of $245,000-$300,000.

Equity package offered above market.
